Shawn Asmus has been playing electric bass and guitar since he
was 15, and boy are his fingers tired! As the bassist and songwriter
for the group Fade 2 White, Shawn has performed for numerous youth
rallies, church concerts and revivals, coffee houses, and many other
events.
His background in rock and funk music helps to make their
concerts fun and entertaining. Audiences are encouraged to be led on
a journey and to take an active part, from doing the hokey-pokey
(praising God for his creation) to participating in story-telling
about the saints.
Shawn has collaborated with other singers, songwriters and artists.
As a member of Catholic Association of Musicians, he co-wrote their
theme song, "Jammin' for the Lord". He has also branched into
liturgical hymns and service music.
In addition to writing, recording and performing music, Shawn serves
as music and youth minister at Immaculate Conception Church in
Jackson, MO. Shawn is music director for the youth ministry team and
coordinates the monthly youth-led Mass. He and his wife Lisa lead
their local chapter of the Dead Theologians Society, one of the most
dynamic ministries that inspires today's youth to become the saints
of tomorrow by imitating the saints of yesterday. Shawn and Lisa
have two sons and two daughters.
Shawn's prayer is to encourage people to see Christ in others and to
be Christ to others.
